Patriot Express Small Business Loans

Good news for vets, reservists and their spouses. Money has been made available for 2,000 Patriot Express Small Business Loans. This is an offshoot of the SBA Express program but it gives better terms to military families. 

The Highlights:

•    They offer streamlined documentation and loan processing

•    SBA will guaranty 75-85 percent of the loan as opposed to the 50 percent guaranty most people get under the SBAExpress. 

•   The Maximum loan size is $500,000.
•    Patriot Express loans get to use the preferred maximum interest rates that are allowed under the regular processing 7(a) program, as opposed to the higher interest rate for the regular SBAExpress program.

HDTV and Digital TV

This year broadcasting is going digital. What do you need to do? What is the deal with HDTV?

• You don't need a new tv. If you get TV over the air, just get a digitial to analog converter and they are available on the cheap.
  
• If you have cable, the company can supply you with the digital to analog converter.
• IF you want High Definition TV, you will need a new TV.
• When buying an HDTV, LCDs are the best buy for the average joe. Be sure to read the packaging. 720P is better than an old TV but not true HD. Don't buy it.
  
• Next best is 1080i. The little i stand for interlaced. Much better and this is what HDTV stations broadcast in. All but the biggest videophiles are fine with this.
• The best is 1080p. This tv can take a movie shot in 1080p and flexes all of the capability. You only need this if you are a serious geek or your TV is 40 inches or larger. Otherwise you won't notice the difference between this and 1080i.
